Milliliters are not automatically grams
A milliliter measures volume and a gram measures mass. To convert to grams, you need the liquid or material’s density. Equal volumes of oil, honey and water do not have the same mass.
Fast, clear, no sign-up
Divide the number of milliliters by 1,000. One liter contains exactly 1,000 mL, so 1 mL equals 0.001 L.
Use a point or comma for decimals.
Milliliters to liters
Divide the number of milliliters by 1,000. One liter contains exactly 1,000 mL, so 1 mL equals 0.001 L. The converter changes the volume unit, not the amount of liquid.
liters = milliliters ÷ 1,000 milliliters = liters × 1,000
| ml | L |
|---|---|
| 1 | 0.001 |
| 50 | 0.05 |
| 100 | 0.1 |
| 250 | 0.25 |
| 330 | 0.33 |
| 500 | 0.5 |
| 750 | 0.75 |
| 1,000 | 1 |

750 ÷ 1,000 = 0.75 L. Three 250 mL bottles contain 750 mL in total, or 0.75 L. Two 500 mL bottles contain 1,000 mL = 1 L.
